Using Viewer with Content Server on another PC

Hi,
I would like to be able to read my eBooks, and also make changes to them, eg comments, highlights, etc, on devices other than where Calibre is installed and have these sync back to my central Calibre library.

My primary need would be for Windows on a PC, reading PDFs
My secondary need would be for an iPad
Third would be an android phone and/or tablet.

I was thinking for the PC, that maybe the Calibre Viewer might work somehow.
But I am open to any solutions.

Thanks,
Grant

On the main calibre viewer go to Preferences--Miscellaneous--Sync bookmarks/highlights with Content server user:

Add the content server users users name.

The CONTENT SERVER (on the host), is usable by most browsers WITHOUT Calibre.

OTOH The viewer is part of Calibre. You need some sort of reading app on devices if you don't use the browser-content server.

Now, how do I open a book using the View on my remote computer to access the central ebook collection on my other PC via the Content Server?
I only seem to be able to open local books with the stand alone View, and can only view books remotely using the Browser viewer, which, alas, renders PDFs very badly (and I do not know if it has the annotation and other features of the Viewer)
Thanks

Alas, the browser viewer does not render pdfs very well

It is possible to run the View standalone on a PC, thus my focus on this and not other apps.

However, if there are other apps that will let me make notes, annotations, highlighting, and sync it back to the server, then I am very interested - for the PC, but aslso for iPad and Android.

Cheers,

Grant

Use the Download button instead of Read, then use a local PDF app to read thos. IMHO a way better way than using Calibres Viewer

Thanks @theducks

But will my notes and annotations I make in the document be synced back to the content server?

Thanks,

Grant
