I have a Boox Note Air on the way and was looking at the Google play books app on my iPad. It seems pretty good, why do I never see anyone suggesting it? Instead I see moon reader +. Are there other readers you’d suggest for someone new to android?

Because it is a piece of crap that requires an internet connection in order to load books. You upload your epubs to google then they convert it to their proprietary format and then send it to your google play app.
