Forma orientation bug?

Hello all,

My Forma consistently displays the following weird behaviour -- when it powers off, it shows the cover of the current book. If you turn it back on, the home screen comes up with the opposite orientation from the orientation shown on the cover screen view when it is off.

I have toggled all the settings I can find, including the developer options, but I can't get this behaviour to change. I've held the reader flat, vertical, sideways, locking orientation, but none of these things work.

Is anybody else seeing this behaviour? Or do I have a hardware issue?
