				.LRX to kindle readable format

Is there a program that can take a DRMed .LRX ebook from a Sony Reader and and convert it into a format that a kindle could read?

I was trying out a sony PRS-505 to see if I would like using an ereader, i've never had a dedicated one before (I used a palm trio for awhile). I love it, but I think the kindle sounds like a better deal since there book store is bigger and there prices seem to be cheaper. I have one book that I bought from sonys ebook store that I would like to convert so that I can use it on my kindle (when I get it). Amazon has the book for kindle, but it really seems stupid to have to buy it twice. Thanks |

As far as I'm aware there isn't any public way to decrypt lrx files to allow conversion.

LRX is purely a "terminal format". It cannot be converted into anything else.

As of now, the DRM for LRX has not been broken.

Is there any other way to make the .lrx readable on a kindle?

Could I copy and paste every page into a word processor? Or print out the book, I know that defeats the purpose of the ereader, but I could copy the pages back in and turn it in to a PDF file. I guess as a last resort I could type the book into a word processor, its only one book

The only way now would be to screenshot the pages in eBook Library and then OCR them.

Due to low screen resolution (72 DPI) the OCR is not great. Lot's of errors. ABBYY Finereader OCR SW comes with a screen shot capability. Of course you could do the same with other screen capture SW & OCR.
