Kobo Utils and new Calibre

If you take a look at the [GUI Plugin] Kobo Utilities thread, in the first message in the Version History spoiler:

Version 2.11.4 - 17 July 2020

    Fix: Updating parsing of firmware update file name to get the version number.
    Change: Display lookup name for columns in Date added choice in Update metadata dialog.
    Change: Add custom date columns and file timestamp option to Date added choices in Update metadata dialog.
    Fix: More fixes for Python 3.
    Fix: Error if setting font in config file if no "Reading" section.

So the work is in progress. Until calibre 5 is released, this is really a non-issue unless you are running the calibre 4.99.xx betas.

To the best of my knowledge, the Kobo Utilities plugin is fully compatible with the Python 3 version of calibre. But, I won't be surprised if there are some problems. The parts of the plugin I use all the time are definitely working. There are parts that I don't use, use rarely or haven't check all the options. I expect that one of these will have a problem. If you find any issues with the plugin, please report them in the thread above.

I have other plugins, and some others that I maintain. They should all be working with Python 3, but, I fully expect that someone will find a problem somewhere. Again, report any problems in the threads for the plugins.

Thanks for the update both. Sorry I had not noticed the dedicated thread. I think Calibre 5 will be released very shortly and if I was suddenly going to lose Kobo Utilities I just wanted to "make a plan" in advance. Wasn't trying to make pressure or anything. Thanks again.

I've been using Kobo Utilities with the calibre beta and haven't seen any issues with the latest version. Unfortunately, I don't use all that many functions in Kobo Utilities so I can't say if the functions I'm not using will work.
