Error installing 4.23 64bit
I downloaded the file multiple times but the setup crashes just after the acceptance of terms & conditions with a "device not found"
does it happens only to me? |

Tell us more about you setup:
OS and release (worked fine for me on W10 x64 v2004 Intel i7) what drive are you trying to install to? Have you tried disabling your A/V (But only if you are using OFFICIAL Calibre site for your download) |

Error Installing
I am having the same issue installing Calibre. I've tried 64 bit and regular. I've tried disabling my A/V.
My computer information is attached. |

After accepting the Licence conditions try pressing the Advanced button, and tell us what you get.

I am having installation problems too.
W10 64bit - install file: calibre-64bit-4.23.0.msi Installation proceeds but rolls back and reports an unspecified error. Previous install 4.22 OK. No changes to system or hardware (apart from some minor Windows updates) Last edited by Savate; 09-04-2020 at 04:47 PM. Reason: updated info |

FIXED!!
I googled "error installing calibre 4.23" That Led me to this thread on mobileread: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=332734 where the same issue reported. Fix is to exit PowerToys (which is running in my system tray on startup). This worked for me! |

Maybe Kovid should make an FAQ entry about Microsoft PowerToys interfering with Windows installation. This is the third post I've seen about it in recent weeks.
