Pasting HTML into Comments in dark mode

When pasting descriptions from GoodReads or Amazon or whatever into the Comments field when using Calibre's dark mode, is it supposed to do this?

I can bypass this by using "paste and match style," but that strips any other formatting and doesn't work with keyboard shortcuts.

It depends on whether what you are pasting from sets colors or not.

@obc - curious, how did you get the single row of buttons?

On Win 10 2004, Calibre 4.23, I get this:

I use the "all on 1 tab" layout for edit metadata, wide layout in look & feel, and I think the default icons. I just took a screenshot of the comment part.

Mine defaults to a single row (comments edit area).

It is the All on 1 Tab that does it. Multi-line for either Wide or Narrow)

Ah, my screen shot is the stand alone comments editor.

I rarely use the metadata edit dialogue, and when I do, I use the Default layout which has the multi-row button bar for Comments.
