Changing Interface Font Size

I’ve solved a ridiculous amount of issues dealing with a switch to icloud, and not needed to post until it’s done and i’m trying to customize after a clean install. *sigh*

i need to change the interface text size. Once I go to “Look and Feel” I can highlight the text in the “Interface Font” box, but typing does nothing. It’s on AppleSystemUI Font [ 13pt ]. Hitting the button next to it results in an immediate restart suggesting that I should be able to change something in the text box. Is there a different setting I have to activate to edit it?

I’ve tried googling, but everyone either seems to be able to at minimum alter the font or be asking about the ebook viewer

Instead of typing into the text box, just click on the button "Change font(needs restart)" which should bring up a dialog box to alter the font and its size etc.
