Kindle Previewer 3
Want to play with the KFX output plugin and now noticed I need kindle previewer 3.

Went to amazons site and found it, but it says for windows 8,1 and above 64 bit. They only have the 2 download options for windows and Mac.
Another site has a download and they say 32 bit and 64 bit. My question is...?.

The download on Amazons site is it 1 file for both 32 bit and 6 bit systems?

Don't want to download from a 3rd party site, learned it from another problem I had with calibre 4.99.

Help will be much appreciated.

Oh, is their anything else I am missing?

Have the plugin and the other file preview kfx.

Don't have a jailbreak pw4 nor is it registered.
Don't have permanent Internet connection and using a brand new install of windows 7 professional that hasn't done any updates.

Recent versions for the Kindle Previewer require 64-bit Windows or MacOS. 32-bit platforms are no longer supported. From the Kindle Previewer download page:

Kindle Previewer 3.43 for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) and above
Kindle Previewer 3.43 (64-bit) for Intel Mac (OSX 10.13 and above)

Can find 2.9.. that works with windows 7 32 bit.

Just installed and tested v3.31 on my W7 x64 - works OK.

After waking up at midnight to take advantage of cheaper data, I got hold of 3.31 it is compatible with windows 7 32 bit, but one needs 3,38 to use the KFX plugin

Think it's time to give up on playing with KFX as can't find that version and it seems others also are looking for that version and it's probably a 64 bit program.

You can try to install an older vesion of the plugin, I don't think it is recommended but...

edit: may be there isn't it in the plugin thread, so it may be difficult to find.

Thx, was considering installing Windows 10 with the latest kindle previewer, but then found the thread about the kfx output plugin and read you have a chance to brick your kindle

How often does that happen?

There have been no cases of bricking reported and I believe it to be very unlikely to happen. Still, anyone sideloading KFX is taking a risk.

I am not trying to inspire confidence. Amazon never anticipated users creating their own KFX files, so there might not be the same level of error checking being performed compared with the more commonly used formats. There is no way to tell without reverse engineering their software.
