show book details

hi there....long-time Calibre user here, but having a strange issue. When downloading the book metadata, I usually click OK on the book details (the blurb) and cover and it carries over to my library and shows on the right side of the page. However, in the past few days whenever I try to get the metadata, etc....the cover carries over, but not the blurb (book details, etc). I've clicked on other books in my library, and the cover and details come up...just not the ones lately. Have I tripped a setting or something?

Not totally
1) the book does not contain these (pretty poor product).
2) Your choice of metadata sources is either wrong (for the books language) or limited (too few places to check)

BUT
Are you running a current version of Calibre? 4.23.0 is the latest.
Sources change and Updates to Calibre try and keep pace.

I think I've sorted it. The "Comments" box had somehow gotten unchecked in Metadata Download.

That will do it

You can als configure each source. Say I do not want comments from Y, but I like Z. Just set the ticks (configure download: Select source: Configure selected source (a button near bottom)
