Personally, I use the method mentioned in the note. If you do copy your library this way, make sure to manually copy your configuration folder as well. Go to preferences-miscellaneous in calibre and click open configuration directory. That directory contains *all* calibre settings. Hope that helps. |

I am certainly at the edge of my patience with Apple. It's becoming increasingly obvious they are trying to convert macOS into a an equally locked down variant of iOS, and there are only so many hoops I am willing to jump through for their stupidity.

If you are looking at Mac, also have a look at Ubuntu or other major Linux distributions. I've been using it for 8 years, with far less problems than I ever had on Windows. The current desktops are very stable and intuitive; you no longer have to be a geek to do just about all you want to. The learning curve is really very low, and nobody is trying to lock you into their specific ecosystem. The amount of open source software available is just amazing. And if you're after hardware as well, give System76 a look, for some really robust Linux machines.

@bigkid50 if you buy a MAC, all you are doing is spending extra money for no advantage over Windows. |

If you want to move from windows then I recommend Linux Mint and Manjaro--basically work out of the box they are intended more for the home user than Ubuntu. But remember if you do go from window to mac or linux the file system naming system is different than windows you will need to do the library export/import from the calibre manual. https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/faq...ter-to-another good luck bernie |
