[REQUEST] Grid view based on authors or series?
Hi everyone.
I just wanted to ask if it would be possible to have a grid view based on the authors/series.
I tried to make a mokeup of how it should look. I put it under spoiler since it's really huge
Do you think it would be possible? It would make Calibre look way better and polished for me.

Click on the author or series name in the tag browser on the left and you will get a grid view of books by that author or series.

You can also sort Grid view by any field. Simply Right click: Sort:<choose>

Kovid showed you how to use the Tag Browser to filter the view.
You can still sort a filtered view

Going by the mockup, what he wants is a text line with the author and series and then the cover images for all the books in the series by that author. Repeat for each author/series in the library.

To me, it sounds like a great way to see how few cover images you could show on the screen.

Somewhat related, is the cover grid being changed/improved?

I was going crazy until I took a ruler to the screen and every cover is slightly misaligned from the title field.

Ah thanks, this is very apparent with emblems enabled, I'll disable them for now.

Edit: Example of the emblem not using the new vertical alignment...
Pretty edge case maybe a bottom align-tweak can set things straight, puns intended

Yeah Sorry, I wasn't looking for a filter. I wanted to suggest a different way to show the books.

As in the mockup, it would choose Author/series/ whatever.
It would display the author/serie name in the first row, than all the books related to it.

hi, any hope to see this request implemented? I know that is not space efficient, but it would make the library way better to display.
Otherwise, there is some way to help with the development to try and implement this?
