Bug in converting PDF to AZW3
There seems to be a bug that converts "ll" (double lower-case L) to " l".
Is there a workaround? Is this a known problem? Did I just do something wrong. I added the PDF as a book, then used Calibre's convert function to convert the PDF to AZW3. All double lower-case L's were converted to " l". Apologies if this is not the appropriate place to report bugs. I could find no link for bug reports. |

Check out the thread: Read this before Posting PDF Questions, especially the section titled "Various character pairs like 'ff', 'll', etc are missing from my conversion".

The keyword is Ligature (ll,ffi, fi, Ae...)
so, no, that was a single character: ll The font glyph in PDF does not map to a Unicode font, nor was the actual glyph recognizable to assign either individual characters, of the equivalent. BTW this is a Conversion issue, not Editor. I moved your post |

Many thanks for the link. That explains the issue, and I had not seen that post. It's too bad the conversion program does not include scanning the document and substituting normal characters for the ligatures. Perhaps in time that will come.
