Conversion problem from ePub to ePub (possibly kepub)

In the last 2-3 weeks I have converted ePub books bought from Kobo to ePub and then downloaded on my Kobo Aura 1, so I presume they were subsequently converted in kepub. I am attaching the details of the file.
There were some strange behaviour of the converter, I assume, where when some Italics text either preceded or followed a non-Italics, the words were joined.
See the attached pictures for as it was originally and converted (the picture with the highlights).
Could it be a new bug of the latest Calibre versions, or just some setting I did not correctly do ?
I have used version 4.18-4.19

Could you post a debug log from calibre or confirm you are using the most current version of all plugins?

Just in case you check this thread first:

What you have looks very much like an issue with the KoboTouchExtended driver. If you have not updated to 3.2.13 (it should have been an automatic notification), do so. You may also want to try converting to kepub using kepubify to see if the problem persists.

I am using now 4.20, with the plugin Kobo Utilities 2.11; just had updated it this morning, so for the previous conversion I must have had a previous version of the plugin, but right now I could not say which one.

I have checked, and the transfer happened at the beginning of may, so I must have had Calibre 4.14.
I have replicated the conversion with 4.20, the current Kobo utilities (ver. 2.11) and the move to my Kobo Aura 1; I checked a few previous problems and they do not appear any more; the resulting file seems to be ok.

Apologies, it was not a double posting on purpose (actually they were in series). I thought to find help first in the Kobo forum, but I quickly understood that I had made a mistake, it must have been a Calibre issue and I moved to the Calibre forum (I wrote so in my previous post in that forum).
On this forum, just the suggestions from PeterP spurred me to make some more investigations and another try and it now seems that the problem has been solved with the current versions. The previous conversion were made with older versions, a couple of months ago, I thought it was not so long ago.
Again apologies, I did not want to cause any trouble. And thanks for the support.

It's not the Kobo utilities I was concerned about it was the extended Kobo driver that had issues

One of the images is the same, but it's not double posing. I've read the other thread.
