converting from odt and background colour

Hello,

I'm trying to convert an odt document to mobi for kindle app android.
Both on kindle app and on the calible ebook viewer, I have issues with background colour when I set the reader (both kindle and calibre) to Sepia.

It looks like most of the text is with white background (wrong as it should be sepia), but some part of it is sepia.

You can see what I mean here:

How to fix it ?
I tried both converting to mobi and reading directly the odt from calibre, same thing

AZW3 is the more feature rich format for Kindles

Try that

Hello,

The problem Is there even before converting .. It appears Just by reading the Odt from calibre viewer

The calibre viewer does a conversion to epub in the background and then displays the epub.

The viewer is basically EPUB, so AZW3 will not be any bette as it is mostly a Amazon wrapper on an EPUB
If yor background color is not coming thru, it may need to be hand coded using the Editor on either EPUB or AZW3. Set it in the stylesheet

When you start the conversion: Look and Feel (sidebar) gives you some controls (be sure Remove colors is NOT ticked).

extra CSS would be a place the add

  background-color: lightblue;
}

you will need to substitute the RGB values for sepia as that is not a recognized named color

You might also want to try saving the 'manuscript' as DOCX and adding that to calibre, the DOCX input module is richer in functionality; more recently developed, by Kovid; and it is actively maintained.

Hi,
the problem was on libreoffice writer, there was a background style appliend on the text

Problem fixed.
