Question to the Nova2 owners about sun bug
The screen of my Nova2 turns gray as soon as it is exposed to the sun for longer - in the library, in the Notes area, in the settings, in the applications, .....
As soon as I switch to another application, the background shows: the previously black dots are refreshed and become white, but the gray remains.
My question to the Nova2 owners: is that the same with you, or is my device defective?

If I refresh the screen it goes back to normal.

This bug was fixed on my Nova2 by two firmware updates a couple weeks ago. I hope this helps you, too.

Same here, with the latest FW-version. Not as much as yours, but visible/noticeable.
Not visible if refresh rate is configured as "on every page turn"

The last time I saw issues using an eInk Reader in sunlight was with some Sony Readers and some Kindles because they used screens from LG that had this issue.

Maybe the Nov2 is using a defective screen. Either that or the Nova2 overheats way way too quickly.

This didnt happen.
I think, it is a problem with 7.8 inch Wacom screens.

Which FW version do you have? I've seen some mention here and on reddit of 2020-04-18_16-21_2.3_1577661 but my Nova2 has 2020-04-17_17-01_2.3_c81a390. When checking for FW updates it says it's the latest and the one linked on Onyx's website seems to be dated 04-10.

The latest of two recent updates I received is 2020-04-18_16-21_2.3_1577661 and appears to have resolved the problem. I received both updates as soon as I enabled wifi: 2020-04-17 first and it was immediately followed with the 2020-04-18.

What an excellent device.

The update note only appears on my device only if I set the language to English

My suggestion is to contact support and let them know of the problem with the screen in the sun. The last time I saw this, it was a hardware issue and not a software issue.
