Hi developers,
It's just happened to me when I turned wifi on & it forced my kindle update from 5.12.4 to 5.12.5. Luckily, I follow snapshot thread and bring back my jailbreak. The question is, up to now which method should I use to prevent OTA update effectively except totally turn off wifi (because I sometimes have to turn wifi on to get my file from cloud storage - dropbox via Koreader) Please kindly advise. Thank you |

1. You can press the button PREVENT OTA Updates in KUAL Helper+ (no guarantee)
2. You can downgrade the firmware below 5.12.* where the above works for sure 3. You can fill the device storage up to less than 200 MB free space |

You can also attempt to hobble the OTA backend.

2nd method: do you mean the method of Ilovejedd (in private support) which allow PW4 to downgrade . It's also a good choice for me as 5.12.5 didn't make me interest in. But let me try method which NiLuJe mentioned above first. 3rd method: honestly, I don't prefer this method. I'm sure this topic is interested by many members. Thank you for your advice |

The latest hotfix allows to downgrade to initial factory firmware (we have it 5.10.1.3) from 5.12.2-5.12.4.
Nobody has reported if this works for 5.12.5. Just try, install the hotfix once more, copy iff 5.10.1.3 to the usb-root and update via menu. |

If I’m running 5.11.1 on my jailbroken Kindle...Is there any reason at all to upgrade to a newer firmware version or not ? It's working pretty well for me

If so, Amazon might block the downgrade possibility in 5.12.5. So the only way to downgrade is via Ilovejedd's trick. |

Sure that it is factory firmware, I encountered error 007 when installed latest hot fix, so I had to install it via mrpackage. After that , I copied factory firmware into root folder, but kindle said that is invalid file.
So let me downdgrade by Ilovejedd's method |
