256 MEG? That is an Antique.
![]() Whatever size, it needs to be formatted FAT32. If it was supposed to be 256 Gig. You may have a fake (there are a few You Tubes on this fraud) |

![]() Calibre typically uses {authors}/{title} , so each layer gets a limited number of entries. This presupposes that you do (I happen to prefer {author_sort} for file system based bookshelves, YMMV) have a reasonable distribution of Author names ![]() |

Sorry All Totally Spaced out... Not 256 Meg....256 GB! It is suppose to be Samsung's "Best" High Speed Micro SD Card. Bought it Directly from Samsung. Right now I have about 350 Books.

Also... The Caliber is working flawlessly, always has. It's the Caliber Companion that has only recently started this... Are the files too large? Trying to shrink them the best I can With Acrobat. Reasonable successful so far. I just noticed when I went through a update of books not downloaded...One of the 15 additional did load yesterday. So I'll try again tonight, since I just made another 15 books of smaller size? Thanks for all your guidance!

this Can not save book "........" to device memory. suggests that CC trying to save to device ( internal) memory, not to card. check your CC settings. if its a 16Gb Ram tablet its probably out of internal space. you can recover a little by removing apps, deletign caches but you need to ensure that books are being downloaded directly to the SD card

CC settings allows you to configure per format storage paths.
I believe I saw an option to also move existing books. Poke around the settings a bit ![]() I have no idea if FAT32 is appropriate for 256Gig (All my large drives are on a PC and use NTFS or EXT4) |

If 1 out of 15 downloaded ok , and all were designed for same folder, then it's probably not a permissions error.
But until you provide more detail, all we can do is guess E.g. What version of Android Is the sd card being used as removable storage How much actual internal device space is free What is the save path you have set in cc ( By format, if you have multiple options set ). What if any troubleshooting have you already tried |

There is a limit to the number of files that can exist in a FAT32 directory. It is a rather strange limit, depending on both the number of files and the number of characters in the file names.
A synopsis of the details:
FWIW: CC reports to calibre that all space is internal. Calibre cannot know if an SD card is being used. Reason: CC can control where book files are stored on a format-by-format basis. |

AFAIk Calibre [ back on the library PC ] cannot report on space used/space available on the tablet, it has no access to that i assumed ( maybe wrongly ) that he was getting the 9.8 GB used from an android file explorer app , or from device settings, and that was the total usage of SD card, not usage by CC of card space but it would still help for OP to post the file path settings in use in the app and approx how many books on device speculation about issues with >12,000 books per folder limits may be off the mark if he only has a few hundred books on device. But maybe he is trying download all, to get the entire library. he needs to say re-skimming the thread, we dont even know if hs is connecting as wireless device or connecting to content server ? |

Hi All, as I am at the lower knowledge level of these things, I'll do my best to give a basic setup info:
1 - Samsung Tab A, 16MB (8 MB Actual) with a 256MB Samsung EVO MicroSD Card 2 - I have everything allowed to be, stored to the External Micro SD card 3 - A Caliber books saved to D:Onedrive folder, this is synced to my "One Drive" account 4 - Caliber Companion is linked to the one drive cloud "Caliber Folder" (save to SD Card) 5 - When looking on the Tablets Memory Verification it says (9.8 meg of the 256 used)... Not just caliber, "everything" 6 - So there should be plenty of space? 7 - Download > See Book Image click on it > Download as PDF > Crashes at 40-55% * Things have been working fine for the past 5-6 months, Problems only recent* Quess-timation from a confused beginner? * Internal Memory is the almost Maxed out is it too small to a thru-put data? * Books too large, tried smaller, but still no download * Is my incredibly slow internet connection to blame? Hope this gives some clarity, I'm so confused I don't know what info is actually useful? Thanks again to you all, Mattee |
