Ways for the parent tag to not be shown with the child tag in the tags column?
Basically I don't want to see Fantasy.High Fantasy when I look at the tags column of a given book. I just want to see high Fantasy.

Nope: If you don't want it, then you have to not do it that way.
In a Template (for sending) you can use subitems(x,y) https://manual.calibre-ebook.com/template_lang.html FWIW Fantasy.High (why be redundant ![]() |

I think I'll just rename Fantasy.High Fantasy into Fantasy.High
Looks nicer that way. |

You can create a custom column with the appropriate template.
