				Kobo Libra problem fixed?

Recently i have been noticing that lesser and lesser people are complaining about the well-know light strip problem at the side of the Kobo Libra.

Is it possible that Kobo has fixed the problem in their new batches of Libras? |

The Libra never had the light strip problem, the Forma has it. The Libra has the generally uneven frontlight problem and it's not been fixed, to my knowledge.

I just received my Libra last week from Kobo in Canada. The lighting is definitely uneven. Brightest on the side away from the buttons, gets darker and grainier as you go across the screen. It's a little annoying, to be honest.

Well, mobileread users who buy a new Libra will probably have heard of the frontlight unevenness by now, so no reason to report it here. As for the rest of it, it's such a small problem that 99% of users won't notice or care, and the general opinion on the device from less specialized boards (e.g. reddit) pretty much confirms this. If I were Kobo I wouldn't fix this either by now.

I also didn't like it when I got my Libra but after a month or so I stopped noticing it completely. I guess my eyes have gotten used to it or I use my backlight in such a way that I don't notice it.

Yeah, I don't notice it either anymore. At all. And it was pretty noticeable at first.

My Libra doesn't seem obviously uneven though I usually use the Colour slider at least half way and the brightness 10 to 20% approx, if using the light at all.

I prefer having ambient light good enough to read an old paperback. |

I think it's a bit less noticeable as the color is made warmer. I've pretty much accepted it by now, and hopefully it won't bother me as much at some point.
