Editor doesn't open book

Yesterday this was working fine. Today when I try to edit a book, the editor opens, but there are no files. Everything is empty. This happens on every book. I'm on Arch linux and I have reinstalled calibre. Not sure what happened.

Are you using the archlinux calibre package?? Or the official calibre binaries?? Try running it in a terminal as

ebook-edit file.epub

it might show you waht the erorr is.

What version of Calibre? Is it from the distribution's repository or the calibre website?

Can you see the File Browser, normally it's in the left sidebar, if not press Alt+V and ensure the File Browser is checked.

I'm using the version from the Arch repositories. It works now--kinda. The problem was that nothing is selected under the 'View' button in the menu. When I choose 'File Browser' (and whatever else I'd like to see) it shows. Strangely, I've tried opening and closing things a few times and sometimes it goes blank again and I have to re-select 'File Browser.' Any thoughts on this?
