Create MSIX package for calibre

Hello, Please convert the MSI installer to the MSIX package.

Then, you can upload the Calibre on Microsoft Store.

I'm afraid I dont have any interest in ceding control of the distribution of my software to random big corp. As long as it is still possible to install computer software outside of app stores, calibre is going to remin outside them.

Windows 10 installation packages are: Appx, AppxBundle, Msix, MsixBundle
You can sideload the app on the device without going to the Microsoft Store.
(like apk files on Android)

One downside of MSIX is mentioned in this article from December:

The MS Store is stupid and makes Apples Store look reasonable.
It doesn't even work very well on Win10. Real Windows programs are rarely via the Store, mostly the Apps. It's MS attempt to control the ecosystem totally.
It was designed for their phone OS which is now dead and gone.

I seriously doubt MS will ever force independent developers to use the MS Store. The marketing guys try these stunts but they rarely prevail over the long haul.

And if they do they risk people potentially going elsewhere, force people onto their walled garden, moving to MacOS or Linux looks like less of a hurdle.

Why on earth would I change from msi to msix which is not available on all windows computers (needs to be installed on non win10 machines). And provides no advantages other than windows store, which I am not interested in??
