Can Calibre convert VitalSource Bookshelf books?

Avoid PDF whenever possible. It is a nasty format to make other book formats from (see the sticky in conversion)

Did you actually have success with that tool? It doesn't really work for me...

I suspect that VitalSource ebooks have DRM. Any conversion would require removal of the DRM first. (Except for conversion that exploits the analog hole, like the one linked to above.)

I don't know of any tools that remove DRM from VitalSource ebooks, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

it is stil a script but it is supposed to save in pub format. I have not tried it but it comes with a demo. The problem is that they have a nasty subscription license.

The link mentioned in the previous post is to an app that is not working, and when it worked it used to create screenshots of its page - terrible!
Can you please develop a script to remove the protection of this vitalsource thing? It's really terrible to use as well!

For a drm removal solution to be produced requires:
  • Someone who wants the drm removed
  • Someone competent to reverse engineer the DRM and produce a solution

Unless they are the same person, it's unlikely to happen.
