007 error when installing hotfix

So, my kindle updated to 5.12.2 a couple months ago and I thought I had lost my JB. Until now...

Followed its instructions and now it seems like my JB is working again. I can open KUAL and stuff, then I went to install the hotfix so I could avoid losing it again, but I still get the 007 error.

I thought about re-doing it, using the ;merchant command, but maybe this could lead to bricking it.

So, how should I install this hotfix?

Put the hotfix in MRPackages then ;log mrpi

I think that should work...

Edit: Make sure you have the MRInstaller in your extensions directory:

Well, the process went well... But then I tried to do it again via UYK and it did not work. How do I know if it really worked? If I'm with the newest hotfix?

When I tried the UYK, I got the 007 error, then the kindle rebooted, then I got a message saying the update failed, then it rebooted again. A message appeared at the bottom "5.12.x

Also, there's a document called "Feedback from Kindle", but I can't open it

The bridge package is designed to install via MRPI.

The hotfix package is designed to install via UYK.

Both bundle the exact same piece of code.

Where can I find the bridge package? I've searched for it at the forum but could not locate it

It's included in the K5 JailBreak package in the snapshots thread.

Oh I was downloading the factory one. I've installed the bridge via MRPI and the hotfix via UYK. Now the hotfix applied with no 007 error!!!!

Guys, many thanks for this thread!!! I was able to recover the Jailbreak on my PW3 (automatically updated to 5.12.2) using the howto linked in the first post. I was also able to install the bridge package and KUAL via MRPI. I can run KUAL and all my applications.

However, I still get Error 007 when installing the JB Hotfix package via UYK. Is that to be expected?

Expected. You only need one or the other to install as the bridge and hotfix have the same functionality.
