Could you help me update my onyx boox note pro? The correct way and manually.

Hi.
I want to update my onyx boox note pro... First off. Does it go blank? All the books and soundbooks and notes?
I hope not..

I want the right file. That's all. What info do you need from my device to help locate it? Don't want to brick my device. Read this here:

https://www.boox.com/downloads/#note-series
Update locally
Please connect the device with power source or PC to make sure of enough power for update.
Download firmware update.upx from our official website.
Copy the firmware to root directory of local storage.
Go to Settings -About - System Update - “Check update from local storage”, then follow the instruction to update the device. When update is successful, the device will restart automatically.
Attention: The different update package for different models cannot be mixed up. The wrong update package will cause the device’s inability to boot and use, and you may need to return your BOOX to the factory to root. Please read the instruction carefully before updating your device. Update from cloud
Connect your BOOX with Wi-Fi first
Go to Settings - About - System Update - “Check update from cloud”, then follow the instruction to update the device. When update is successful, the device will restart automatically.

Some info on my device.
When i cklick firmare update it says: NotePro
Android 6.0.1
Build number: 2019-06-12_10-29_2-1-2_and some more letters maybe not important?
What more info do you need to help me find the right file?
If any... Just want to double check so it's right. Thanks

Can i just connect with usb and put it in the first directory that pop up on the pc? That's the root directory?
Then just update? I don't have time to send the device back now.. I rather not update, but i bet it's some good new stuff. I have mine offline of course. I want privacy and don't want others to know what and how i read, that's private information. So i need to update manually. Mostly by principle and personal integrity and because i read kindle deleted the book 1984 from their devices so.

Thanks. I don't have an sd card. I can send it with usb.. Where is the root directory? In the storage one? Does it remove the books and soundbooks i have and notes? Or just update without removing anything? Like it should. Thanks

Alright. It was really really easy. They have done a good job there also. Everything with the onyx boox is great!!!
I just put the file in the root folder and updated. Easy!

I was mostly paranoid i would brick my device, but why would i? It works fine. I like the new firmware even more and i will continue to keep this one offline. Because i want my privacy. Good that this option exist. I don't even need to connect it and get distracted by the internetz and get my privacy invaded at the same time. An offline reader rocks.
I really love this e-reader! It's been a while since i loved a gadget like this one. Where you can write, think and read on. And offline. Which i prefer. I'm rambling! Anyways. It was an easy update and i will do in in a year again later on. Time to sleep.
