does the button on the stylus not work as an eraser?

device : onyx boox note2
firmware : 2.2.1_b1bea62
stylus : default pen , samsung s4/s6 pen
app : basic note app
expexted result :wrote line or drawing and i want to erase it while hloding down the button on the stylus.
every pen is not wotking at my note2

if hold the button on pen differently it works sometimes. very often..

is it normal operation

I seem to have the same issue. The eraser at the back of the pen works flawlessly. The side-button eraser function is very spotty. Most of the time it doesn't work; it seems to work if I lower the pen onto the screen very slowly while holding the button. If I do it quickly, or draw a line, it just draws a black line, as if the button was not pressed.

Is it a faulty pen, or a faulty reader? Could this be fixed?

I'll appreciate all hints and suggestions.
