Hello,

I just got this e-reader and i'd like to install koreader or alternative software but the root directory structure isnt exposed when plugging in via usb. What hope is there for hacking into the device directory.

You simply need to turn on 'view hidden files and folders' in Windows Explorer. Absolutely no need to root your device. This should all be explained in the manual, IIRC.
