Forma embed highlights into the book

Hi, I'm figuring out if it'd be possible to embed my highlight into the ebook (kepub) file itself, in order to see them on my PC. I know I can export them as a .txt file but that's useless because it won't tell me the context of the highlight. Moreover I usually highlight just 1-2 keywords which in itself don't mean much. In the case of a list I may highlight only the header not the whole list. Given how clunky the forma touchscreen is I try to be as conservative as possible, expecially when having to highlight across pages.

If the kobo DB knowns which lines are highlighted even when I change font size then there should be a way to hardcode the informations into the file itself, perhaps through some calibre plugin.

It isn't possible on the device. And, and while there are several methods to get the annotations from the device, there are none that will add them to the book. You can see the methods in https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...01#post3215101. That is my summary of what you can do. The only method I can think of that is missing is [thread=]Kobo annotation exporter[/thread] from Toxaris. From memory, it will get the surrounding text from the book. But, it doesn't work with firmware later than about 3.20.x.

This works to get the notes out so you can easily see them on your PC, but doesn't show you them in context:
