Windows: the Link tool "Browse to file" dialogue only shows image types, previously it showed all file types. The Treat as image URL box is not checked.

I usually want to have a link to a folder, rather than a file, so I have to browse to a file in target folder, then truncate the file name in the HTML code. Be nice if one could browse to a folder or a file - Windows/Qt permitting.

For me it defaults to images, but all files is also an option in the dropdown. Is that not the case for you? I dont think there is a way to enable selection of both files or directories in one dialog.

Very few of the folders I want to link to have any images, they have documents, audio and/or video. Previously the file type selector defaulted to All Files, so all I had to do was browse into the folder, hit space and enter to select the first file.

Now I have to press tab a couple of times, arrow down to All Files, hit enter, then hit tab 8 times - hit space and enter to select first file.

Then I can curette the file name out of the <a href'<blah blah"> HTML to get a folder link :lol:

No I didn't think there was - hence my "Windows/Qt permitting".

I don't want a browse to folder option.

Well sadly there is no way to make all files the first choice, its either only all files or speciic ones followed by all files. I suppose I can add the images entry only if treat as image is checked.

Because it was always All files before, I assume this restriction is imposed by the new Qt version. Maybe they can be persuaded to remove it

That would be better for me. If I wanted an image, I'd get the image first, and then check "Treat as image", like I enter a Name for a file (folder) after I get its path.

Because the Browse button is an alternative to pasting a URL, maybe it should appear before the "Treat as image" and "Name" fields.

Thanks - having All files makes a huge difference for me.
