Layout change of Edit Metadata window

over the last few days I have used the edit metadata window frequently to get my books organized before sending to my new Kobo Libra. Today I reimported a number of books, individually but continued to do them all before converting them to my preferred output of kepub. I then batch downloaded metadata, and when it finished, opened the Edit metadata window to individually re-tag, etc the way I wanted. I only use the download for the comments and isbn numbers etc. Then I use the comments to determine how I want to tag and shelve the books.
I am using Calibre 3.48 and have not updated since it came out. Nothing else changed, but when I opened the Edit Metadata window its layout is completely different - see screenshot 7 (today) compared to screenshot 5 (a few days ago) I can't read the comments easily, which is the main thing I need. Is there a way to change the layout that I am missing?

Preferences -> Behavior -> Edit Metadata Layout -> Default

Thank you! That did it. I searched through everything but had missed that little button. Not sure how it got changed since I never saw it before. Oh well, everyday I learn something new in Calibre.
