Good day. I'm trying to convert an ebook I'm writing for upload to Amazon. I've converted from html to .mobi and .azw3. I can see emojis in the converted document from within the calibre preview.
When I look in Kindle preview I do not see the emojis. Same result when using kindlegen from an epub to .mobi file. Is it possible to get emoji to show in books uploaded to Amazon? If so, how? Apologies if the answer is somewhere else in the forums, my searches didn't lead me to find it. (Also have no emoji showing with .pdf format in pdf viewers, although they show in calibre preview.) |

You need to embed the EMOJI as an image (eg jpeg)
But that may open more cans of worms for older formats that did not permit fine formatting details like placing a image INLINE with text. Smile ... ![]() |

Not that it would be a good idea, but could this be done with topaz (azw1) format?

???? Yes, of course, they do, but Amazon is not making this book, the OP is. Topaz is not available to self-publishers and never has been.
The OP can use MOBI format, ePUB or one of the Kindle Create options--that's it. And none of those will address the issue of KF7 not supporting inline-image content. That can be done (mostly) with some heavier-lifting in HTML and CSS, but it's still never going to be perfect. No matter what someone does, not in the self-publishing sphere. Hitch |
