at the beach, but not e-ink

I am looking for an ebook reader which is not e-ink, but could be used at the beach. This would be an interim purchase; there are interesting new ones due out in 2009, supposedly, and I want to spend as little as possible in the meantime. I have a PDA which is backlit and can barely be seen, even in the shade, so unless there are magic lens glasses of some sort, that's probably not a solution.

I wondered about the ebookman EBM-900, which is not backlit. Has anyone used this in direct sun? Any other ideas? Thank you. |
