Clicking in TOC or Bookmarks Resets Zoom

Hello,

I am having a problem where clicking on any bookmark or element in the TOC resets the zoom level. I am attempting to use my convertible laptop as a reader, but need to reset fit to page width every time I browse by bookmarks through my textbooks, making this infeasible. I am experiencing this problem while reading the book in fullscreen mode, while browsing via the side pane.

I am using Calibre 3.21 on a Linux Mint system, on a Thinkpad 11e yoga, if any of that matters. I am new to Calibre, and not an extreme power user, I attempted google and attempted the user manual, but found nothing obvious.

My sincere apologies if this is a simple or common issue and I've missed the obvious solution.

You might like to let us know what format your books are in.

I sense they might be PDFs.

Probably better to read PDF's with a PDF Reader rather than calibre's EPUB reader - it does a temporary PDF->EPUB conversion.

If you uncheck PDF in Preferences->Behavior ->Use internal viewer for: calibre will use whatever you have configured in Linux Mint for reading PDF's - e.g. Okular.
