Error connecting to Kindle fire
When I try to send books from Calibre to my Kindle fire I get the following error message
calibre, version 3.45.2
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

Cannot write to file: hr=2147500037 facility=0 error_code=16389 description: Unspecified error

The file system got confused.

Hi theducks, tried that several times and it made no difference. Calibre sends the books to the Kindle Fire, but won't show what's on the device.

Calibre can't see books the go direct (whisper sync or WiFi by the Kindle app), Only the ones side loaded. protected storage

I've rebooted both the computer and the device (Amazon Kindle Fire HD10) several times and still get the same error when Calibre tries to read the books on the device.

That is an error communicating with the device. Usually, this kind of error can be fixed by
following the steps below in sequence. First:

1) Try rebooting both the device and your computer
2) If that does not work, find the files driveinfo.calibre and metadata.calibre on the device
and delete them (you can use Windows Explorer or a file manager on the device itself to do this)
3) Reset the device

If none of those work, you can use one of the wireless communication methods described here:
