A series of tips and tricks for Onyx Boox E-readers will be posted on this thread, please kindly check.

1. Sidenote linked to the page or entire book

In the latest firmware 2.1.2, users could easily make sidenote linked to the page or entire book on Neo Reader. Please go to Settings->Global Settings->Sidenote data sync to make the sidenote linked to the page or entire book. (The expression “Sidenote data sync” is not that accurate and we will correct that problem in the next firmware update. Apologize for any inconvenience that may cause.

2. Make your own note templates

You could customize the note templates in your computer by yourself or download the note templates online, and then save those templates in the format of PDF or PNG. After that, you could put those note templates under Storage\Note\Note Template. On Note App, you could use these note Templates to make your own notes.

Where can I download the note templates online?
What resolution should the PNG for the template be (or dimensions in case of PDF)?

You could kindly download the note templates from these websites, such as TEMPLATE.NET, EINKTEMPLATES or others.

What resolution should the PNG for the template be (or dimensions in case of PDF)?
Generally speaking, the most appropriate resolution for the note templates shall match the resolution of your Boox device and the best dimension for PDF would be the same as your screen size for a better visual experience. However, it would have little impact when the resolution of PNG document or the dimensions of PDF has some differences to your Boox device.

3. Download new TTS engine on Boox device and use it as the default TTS

First of all, you shall download the TTS engine, such as Google TTS from Google Play Store on Boox device. Secondly, you shall go to the Settings-Language-Voice-Text-to-speech Output to set the speech rate. And then click the button marked as red below, you could download the specific language package for your use and further customize the TTS settings as you like.

If you want to change the default TTS on Library on your device, please go to Library-Settings-TTS Settings to choose the one you want.

4. Copy & paste part of scribbles between different pages.

Use the selection tool to select the part of scribbles then and click the “copy” button at the top of the page.

Move to the page where you want to paste the part of scribbles and then click the “paste” button.

Easily adjust the position for the part of scribbles on the page.
