Possible to link/cross-reference book entries in a bidirectional relationship?

Hi All,

I've been reading through threads that mention "cross reference" or "cross-reference" but not sure I'm finding what I'm trying to do. Essentially, I have an epub and audiobook of the same book - both these formats (I compress the audiobook into a zip, then rename to zab) are saved in the same entry in Calibre with the 2 formats available.

The audiobook happened to come with a PDF of supplementary material that's specifically referenced in the audiobook, but not in the ebook. I have added the PDF as a separate entry in calibre, with a similar title and the author is the same, as well as the isbn number on it. I was wondering if it was possible to create a custom column/field and link the 2 book entries in calibre to each other, such that if any book that is "cross-referenced" to one or many other books in the calibre library, that I'm able to click on the book in the cross-reference list and it will take me to that entry in calibre?

I don't think anything much has changed since this thread which has several kludgey suggestions ==>> Link/reference book in database

I put book folder url links in a long text custom column -- there's a tool in the Long Text column editor that facilitate's creating the <a ref="file:///blah-blah"..> links -- when I click the link in Book Details it opens the other book's content folder.

Thanks.... that's what I was afraid of....I guess the unique-common-tag is the easiest solution, which I could easily create a custom column for, and use that.... Thanks for your help!
