Help buying a PRS-700

Hi,

I have made up my mind about buying a PRS-700 after having used the PRS-500 for almost two years.

I live in Brazil, so direct shipping from sonystyle or borders is not an option. I will be traveling to the US in December and I would like to get my reader during the trip. However, I am not sure if I will find a reader in Border street stores since it will be very close to Christmas.

Also, I can't but from sonystyle without an US billing address and US credit card, is that right? Does this restriction apply to borders.com as well?

What do you suggest? Is asking somebody in the US to buy it for me and ship it to my hotel the only option? If so, would there be a board member willing to do that?

Thanks in advance. I've been following this board (and the PRS-500 board) since I decided to buy the 500 and your posts have always been helpful.

Cheers,

Rafael

bhphotovideo ships overseas; several other MobileRead folks have purchased from them. They're online at www.bhphotovideo.com.

Rafael--If you're travelling where there is a physical Sony store, you should be able to purchase from there. You just can't purchase from their website without a US address.

Thanks - I'll try B&H

Thanks guys. I've registered at B&H so that I am notified when the reader is in stock. I'll try to order it beforehand and have it delivered to my hotel. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll have to beat the Chicago windy and cool winter and find one in a street store.

Cheers,

Rafael
