Why PageEdit is separated software?

Why PageEdit is separated software?
By that I mean, why is it not included in the Sigil installation?

Okay, "Book View" was not viable, and his removal is inevitable and necessary .
Separating "Book View" into a new executable is therefore an excellent solution. This allows to clearly separate the development of Sigil from PageEdit.

But as buggy as it was, "Book View" was still a powerful feature, which had a number of advantages, and now we a 2 software programs that separated while they are complementary and would work wonders together.

You can set PageEdit as "External XHTML Editor"
Yes, but no. I think that would be a waste. For me an "External XHTML Editor" would be a totally external software and very different from Sigil (an IDE for example), except PageEdit is a derivative of Sigil and is complementary to it.
Wouldn't it be better to include PageEdit in the Sigil installation and add next to the "External XHTML Editor" button, a "Open in PageEdit" button? This would maximize synergy.

No Open with... it's diversity and rescue tools.

Thank for reading.

No. It wouldn't.

PageEdit is bandaid for those who haven't figured out yet that they rarely need a WYSIWYG html editor. We were looking to get rid of Book View from Sigil's code-base, not replace it with something else.

PageEdit is--and will continue to be--a separate (but complementary) application. The sooner you accept this and move on, the better off you will be

That is all. There is no point in further discussing the issue. The decision is done.
