I should point out that this is not especially competitive.

Here's an offer on new Sony 505s for $249:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31619

Even the full price of $289 may be worth paying for the warranty.

The 10,000 book cd may not necessarily be as attractive as it sounds, if it is the one described in this Ebay guide:

The other question is how old is this? The longer you have it, the less warranty the buyer will get and you'd have to give the receipt for it. Also, what country was this 505 purchased? That's important for the warranty as well

Ok, let's try to sort through your TWO posts. --- And welcome to MobileRead, by the way!

Here goes:

If you have ONLY ONE Sony 505 for sale, then one of us here will merge your two threads into one for clarity. If you indeed have two units for sale, please let us know, and both threads will maintain their separate integrity.

I just realized something. Your 505 is now used. You've opened the box and taken everything out. The value then has dropped. $270 for a used unit is just too high. Sorry, but when you open the box, the value drops.

Thank you so much for your replies guys, I can see you are really interested in my offer. I have not used the Sony, I just opened it to make pictures of it. And the DVD is not from ebay, it's from my son. I received the gift one month ago, so the warranty is still going. I do not really know which should be a good price. Thanks for your help, this forum is great, everyone is trying to help new people!

hi meningcoco, welcome to the forum !

just a question for you, i see in your other thread you live in australia, are the prices you gave in australian dollars ? according to the oanda currency converter 270 austalian dollars is only 180 US Dollars, which makes a pretty big difference ! perhaps you should specify the currency to be more clear.

The price is, I think, a little high. One can buy it for $270 new, and the "10,000 book DVD" is almost certainly a PG one, or something similar, which can be downloaded free of charge.

Hi meningococo1.
Where are you from?

If you are from USA the price might be a little bit high IMHO. If you are, however, from some other country the price 270 US$ might be just right because the buyer (from the same country/continent, of course ;-) ) would not need to pay duty, Value Added Tax, or transport from USA.

Here in Central Europe, for example your price, combined with cheap postage could be very interesting. Not to mention country like Australia or New Zeland.

Price is 250 US$ ;)

Thanks for your reply guys! The price is now, 250 US$, according with your opinions, I think it is a reasonable one for a NEW reader. I live in Melbourne, Australia, but I can make shipment anywhere, at the cheapest cost possible.
The DVD is a really complete one in my opinion. Just a gift. Anyway, thanks again for your collaboration. And trust me! The Sony is absolutely new in box, never used because I do not really know how to make it work. This technology is just too much for me.

Thank you guys!
