Amazon metadata search not finding books

It appears that Amazon has altered their searching capability again.. When I click a book to search for the metadata, it now only finds stuff in google, goodreads or fantastic fiction, but no amazon information or covers are showing up, including books previously found on the 3.39.1 build prior to about 3 days ago. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have even turned on the multicountry amazon plugin an the highres plugins, and yes it finds SOME of the books that way, but not nearly what it had been finding prior to a couple days ago..

I am getting metadata from Amazon here. I looked at the configuration for Amazon metadata and country was set to Canada and server to automatic. As an experiment, I first changed the server to Amazon servers and metadata was still downloaded. I then set the country to US and server to Amazon servers and metadata was still downloaded.

As far as I know, the Kindle covers (G) plugin (aka hires plugin) only finds cover images. The book I used for testing (Betty Crocker Lost Recipes isbn:9781328710376) was found on Kobo, Amazon, Google and B&N. I keep the Goodreads and Fantastic Fiction metadata plugins disabled unless no metadata is found using my normal selection of sources.

Ok, for me the US servers are not pulling info for new releases (like today's new books), however, based off of your reply, I switched from US to UK and it is now finding all of the ones it wasnt before.. so, either the US site is not posting the metadata files up at the same time as the books themselves, or there is a small glitch in their site that is causing the issue I guess..

I seem to remember from previous discussions that there is a limit on how many metadata searches from one IP address will be accepted. A quick search came up with the following thread: Getting Metadata from Amazon .

Its likely amazon US just started blocking your IP for too many downloads. Switching servers should work
