				One hand or Two

I watched a YouTube video where the t showed how he holds his Paperwhite with one hand and uses his other hand to turn pages. I use my right hand to hold the Kindle and turn pages with my thumb. My free hand only comes into play when I need menus. Are you a one-handed reader or a two-handed reader? ps: I have had my Paperwhite 4 and cloth Amazon Kindle cover. I like both. |

I can't hold it in one hand without getting tired unless it's resting on something. Then I use it with one and turn with my thumb. But I have a cover with a strap which makss holding and using so, so much easier. Then I rest it on my palm and use the thumb to flip, no need to grip.

I always read one-handed with my Oasis. Holding it in my palm with the cover folded back and supporting it with my first finger along the bottom edge, my thumb naturally falls over the "page forward" button. Very comfortable that way.

I read on my PW3 mostly one handed. Mostly because I have an original Amazon leather case, that is very nice to touch during reading |

I agree with you. I like the feel of leather covers, too. I always buy them when they're available.

Hands free! Just kidding. Granted, I do have a case with stand for my PW4 so when I'm eating for example, I don't hold it, just tap or swipe on the screen to turn pages. Normally, I hold my PW with one hand and use my thumb to turn pages. I've modified KOReader tap zones so a tap on almost the entire display area advances to next page. I just use swipe for previous page. |

I generally hold it in one hand and swipe or tap with my thumb on my paperwhite, use the page turn buttons on my kk.

I like leather, even the PUC, but I'm liking the fabric on the new cases. I'm waiting to see how they hold up to wear and dirt. The fabric is coarse and easy to hold.

If the PW4 fabric is made anything like the original, now discontinued, Oasis 2 waterproof cases, then it should hold up fine to wear and tear. Mine doesn't have any damages, but dirt accumulated around the magnets. On the PW4 the case just snaps in, not held magnetically? Then it should last for quite a while even in dirty environments. The dirt accumulation on mine is due to fine metal shavings that sink right into the fabric and won't come out.

DuckieTigger: I got the bright yellow which was probably a mistake but with dark covers my Kindles hide from me. The outer cloth is very coarse and isn't showing dirt. The cloth on the inside of the front cover feels like suede and does pick up oils and dirt from my fingers. It's supposed to be amenable to cleaning so when it gets a little worse I'll try a little laundry soap and a damp sponge.

One handed with the Voyage, or hands-free in the origami case it’s too light to hold it with two hands |

I hold both my Oasis and my Voyage one-handed, the same way Harry does, when reading. Both are in folio-style covers. The only difference between the two is that with the Oasis, I flip it when changing hands so that the weighted part sits in my hand.

I am also a ‘one hander’ With both the voyage and the oasis. My voyage has the origami case, my oasis doesn’t have a case as I like the way it sits in my hand as the back isn’t flat. I do have a sleeve to put it in when not using it to protect it.
