Jailbreaking a PW4 with G001 serial number
Just got my 2018 Kindle PaperWhite. Just opened it and noticed its serial number says G001 XXXXXXX.
I have been able to get to the You are Jailbroken step. After this if i try the hotfix, kindle throws up an update error. I am also not able to install KUAL and MRI. Any help/suggestions? P.S. I havent updated my kindle yet ..It's still at 5.10.0.2. |

That S/N prefix is much too short to be useful, we need roughly four more characters
![]() With a bit more info about where it was shipped to, and whether it has LTE support or not. Last edited by NiLuJe; 01-03-2019 at 03:50 PM. |

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed, and it answers something that was bothering me about those new Indian variants
![]() I'll add support for them later tonight, I'll post here when it's done ![]() |

I'm hoping you won't actually have any trouble with the JB, because we only actually saw those Indian variants appear in FW 5.10.1.3, which might hint at the fact that they may be using a slightly different 5.10.1.2 build than what we're expecting...

In any case, packages (JB Hotfix, KUAL-coplate, Snapshots) have been updated to handle this variant

Great success getting the hotfix through! Worked like a breeze.
For the MRI part i keep getting a unable to run .sh command error.. I used the kual-mrinstaller-1.6.N.zip and then added the revised coplate version to the mrpackages folder and ran ;log mrpi The device shows an installation bar, throws 255 Package error and restarts. Anything i'm doing wrong? Thanks for helping out! Last edited by thechordmaster; 01-04-2019 at 02:04 AM. |

I did unarchive the mrinstaller folder which gave me two folders.
Added the coplate update file to the mrpackages folder and helper to the extensions folder. Still don't see the KUAL link on my Kindle. My device now restarts and then shows no change. |

What does the mrpi log file have to say about the attempt? Quote:
And then the final one, which I do not see you have mentioned ... Are you still running the "factory-use-only" firmware image or did you install a "customer-use" firmware? Which version of the customer firmware? Note: None of our add-ins are intended to work on a "factory-use-only" firmware -- even if the firmware is the same version number! (if they do, then it is a matter of luck, not of design) |

[QUOTE=knc1;3794724]Let me ask that a different way:
Did you use that file or did you use its contents? the contents.. The two folders in it. and Did you get an error when you ran the installer? What does the mrpi log file have to say about the attempt? how do i access the mrpi log? Have you tried changing the main page filter and organization settings? Do you mean the All | Downloaded All Items options in the kindle homepage screen? If yes, yes. I used this 5.10.0.2 link here https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=312489 |

EDIT: This is where you should be getting your add-on packages (aside from the KUAL coplate): Snapshots of NiLuJe's hacks Last edited by ilovejedd; 01-04-2019 at 10:34 AM. |

Now install a "consumer-use" firmware, downloaded from Amazon. Keep in mind, you can get any firmware version released by Amazon from the Amazon server, you just have to alter the link address. |
