asin v. mobi-asin

Whenever I add a book to calibre, the metadata "ids" subsection automatically lists "mobi-asin" followed by the amazon code. However, a hyperlink for the amazon web page does not appear on the right side of the main calibre screen.

When I change "mobi-asin" to just "asin" the hyperlink appears as "amazon.com"

Is there a way to have the "mobi-asin" id also produce a hyperlink or have the default id listed as "asin" as opposed to "mobi-asin" so i don't have to edit the metadata every time.

this is deliberate, because amazon asins are country specific and there is no way to know which country the asin from a given file is for. So always linking it to the us amazon website (whichis what using asin does) is not going ot be correct.

Looks like this issue was addressed in 3.41.2. Thanks to the person who wrote the patch. However, I can't seem to find the location where I can edit this feature. Thanks for any assistance.

It is deep

Get to Configure download Metadata (many places. Preferences: Metadata download is one)

: select Amazon from the list: Click Configure Selected Source (button); the tick is near the bottom
