I notice on occasion I have book updates available showing on my content page on amazon.com. Is there a way to see what specific part of the book is being updated?

Not that I know of.

Sometimes it is a true update, maybe with better formatting or improved images. Most of the time it is more ads for other books from the publisher.

If you convert to text files, there is free software online to compare. If the original book was published within the last year or so, it's usually editing fixes.

Yep. There is free software to compare two KF8 eBooks. And that software is Calibre. The editor in Calibre will compare two KF8 (or two ePub) eBooks. Does a very good job.

Not always is it adverts added to the eBook. Sometimes it's higher resolution graphics, new cover, errors corrected, adverts, better formatting, and if the eBook i self-published, change to the text by the author.

Thanks JSWolf. I thought Calibre did that, but couldn't find it. It's under FILE.
