The search function is broken on my Kindle Voyage. It is unable to find anything, even in books loaded months ago, or in book purchased on Amazon.
Is there a way to force a complete reindexing? Maybe by deleting a file somewhere. My Kindle was plugged on sector last night and Firmware is 5.10.1.1 Thank you. Last edited by Pyjam; 12-03-2018 at 12:55 PM. |

Search Index files are kept here:
/system/Search Indexes/ system is a hidden folder. If you are on Windows, you'll need to disable "Hide protected operating system files" in order to access it. Delete the contents of "Search Indexes" and restart your kindle. Edit: Before trying the above, simply restart your kindle first and see if search works. Often a restart will fix abnormal behavior. Can you clarify the meaning of "my Kindle was plugged on sector"? This is an expression I'm unfamiliar with.
