no Inverted black white (real nightmare) on Kobo Forma is a shame

for this new Kobo Forma, very expensive, it is a shame that they did not provide Inverted black white (real nightmode) !!
You have it on any basic tablet and Kindle reader . I ll never buy again Kobo if they don t provide this.It s indispensable because it is less stressful to the eyes, called as inverted contrast. I read at night, and it s the best way for me .I am obliged to implant a code in the hardware to have this inverted Black White on my H2O but I can not switch between the 2 modes.
A shame I tell you !

DEFINITELY not to mine. While I agree that offering it as an option would seem to make sense in terms of broadening the market appeal, I loathe and abhor reading white on black and give up after a minute or so when I try. It hurts my eyes, and hurts my brain. To each their own

Well, there are Kindles that are equally as expensive and don't have features that I consider essential to my reading, as well. Also, one could also say the same about the Comfort Light Pro/reading mode on tablets and smartphones. It's your money, no one is forcing you to buy anything you don't like.

Anyway, the hack on the forum (not the Kobo .conf one) allows you turn nightmode on and off as you see fit, but I don't know if it's supported by the Forma, considering that it just came out.

EDIT: Looks like the hack works on the Forma as well, so you might want to look into it.

I can't seem to find any setting for inverted text on my Kindle Paperwhite.

there's a mod for it and iirc also as a hidden setting, does neither work on the forma?

I'm fine reading white/gray on black on other devices (smartphone with oled screen), but with eInk there tends to be much stronger ghosting this way, so either you need more screen refreshes or just stick to the black-on-white it was apparently made for...

Now if only I could get rid of the black borders so only text is black... but white/grey shelled readers went out of fashion apparently

The mod works so I presume the hidden feature works too.

Yup, it's just missing actual hardware optimization, but, to be fair, that's fairly rare, AFAIK, only the Oasis 2 (and the PW4, apparently, if one reads through the lines) does.

By default it triggers when you set brightness to 11 you can customize that though. I’ve got mine set for 100 since I’ll never use that for anything else and it’s easy to select.
