Finally made a purchase, well two actually!

Just wanted to say thanks to all the members of the board for all the information available here. I have been reading on a UMPC, but asked for advice on buying a reader for my daughter. I pre-ordered the PRS 700 for her as she will appreciate the light. A couple of days later I was browsing the Airmiles site after receiving a statement from them and was surprised to find the Sony Reader amongst their rewards. If I'd seen it before I ordered the 700 I would probably ordered from there and saved myself some money, but I ordered it anyway and am now excitedly awaiting delivery. I don't really know why I'm so excited, apart from being a gadget freak, as I already read ebooks, so I am not really getting anything different. But I am now avidly scanning the 505 board for tips, hints, etc and looking forward to playing with it when it arrives.
Oh and by the way, I know I could cancel my pre-order for the new Sony and give my daughter the 505, but couldn't bring myself to do it now!

I read eBooks for years on various Sony Cliés -- Palm OS PDAs with high-res (320x320) screens. And also on a phone with an even bigger high-res screen.

It just doesn't compare. The 6" eInk screen is just amazingly more pleasant to read on. My CyBook was worth every penny, and that was before W H Smiths offered such a good price in the UK.

Enjoy your Sony.
