Troubleshooting PaperWhite 3 not showing books after G letter

My Kindle, since last update, isn't listing books past the letter "G".
For example, under a collection, I have
-Alice's adventures in Wonderland
-Awaken
...
-C#
-Cloud Native Python
..
-Grave Decision
-Harry Potter
.. other books

for example i'm on 3/10 pages of books, and after the last book with a G, shows the rest of the list blank. If i go to page 4.. 5..10.. it shows blank space

Well, after the G letter, any book with an H to a Z in the begginnig, doesn't lists under any circunstances.

Tried resetting my Kindle, I can get into the books Searching them, but can't list them in any other way.

I had a similar problem in that "All" on one Paperwhite show 1200 books and a second Paperwhite showed more than twice that number. When I went to the MYK page I saw all my books. I tried everything I knew and then called customer service. Eventually I was bumped up to some sort of "team" and a person with an actual name took my email address and said he'd get back in touch with me. He did and two days later it was all sorted. It had, apparently been a problem on the server end.

I've found that this problem only arises when i'm sorting books by it's name. But still is a problem for finding some books that are buried into collections

It seems to be a bug that appears when collections have large numbers of books.

I reported it long ago (2 years ago or more) and -- like any number of other bugs -- it hasn't been fixed. I don't bother with collections now. As a work-around, Calibre has a feature called 'catalog' which creates a mobi file listing all books on the device by various categories like author, genre, etc. It's not a complete solution but it serves my needs. (btw, if you choose this solution, use mobi output format instead of azw3).

FWIW, Kobo doesn't have this problem.
