Losing WiFi Passwords

My Kobo(s) periodically lose the wifi passwords. This problem has existed through 2 Aura HDs, multiple firware upgrades, and now a new Aura H2O ed. 2 with latest firmware.

It happens randomly, several times a year. I have had my Aura H2O for about two weeks and it already has happened. There are 3 wifi networks I login to with my Kobos. Home, work, and my car wifi.

Curious if others experience this? It is a real pain.

Dana

I have seen this to. It doesn't happen very often, just enough to be annoying, but not enough to find a pattern. I have no idea of the cause.

Now that is a concise statement of the problem with trying to fix the problem.
I don't even want to get into this with Kobo support because they will have me pulling my hair out.

I have one working theory. It happens if you let your Kobo sleep most of the time when not using it rather than turning it off. Creeping corruption in memory or something like that. I didn't say it was a good theory

FWIW, it happens to me all the time but ONLY when I have WiFi off AND manually turn the device off. I never have this problem when either I let the device sleep by itself or leave WiFi on.

Which goes to show us how difficult a problem to troubleshoot this is. Two very different user experiences ending with the same result.
