505 crashes when viewing pictures

Recently my 505 has started freezing up when I attempt to view pictures on it. I go into the pictures menu, select one and boom, freeze. WHen I reset it it'll turn off, and when I attempt to turn it back on the screen will flash black once and then stay off. It stays this way until I connect it to a PC (Via the AC adapter the charge light comes on, but it won't actually turn on) at which point it'll start working until I try to view a picture again. This happens with the three sample pictures that came with it so its not a formatting problem. Images embedded in books also display fine when reading them. Anyone have any thoughts as to what could be causing this?
